What I Did On My Day Off
Do I procrastinate?...probably, sometimes, although I don't know when else I would have done what I did today. I do work well with deadlines, and am prone to piling on the assignments, just to see what will happen.
Here's Kathy Charlton's Love Yourself doll, almost done. she needs a heart to hold, red ultrasuede breasts, and perhaps some of the heart sequins I bought today...no such thing as Too Much embellishment!
I got up early so I'd have plenty of time to post the next lesson for my online class: Doll Making as a Transformative Process. The students are very articulate and have jumped into working on themselves and their dolls with huge enthusiasm and support for each other. The ones who've introduced themselves are from all over the US and Australia. It's only week 2, so not to late to join up, on www.joggles.com.
I DO procrastinate about painting. Maybe because it is so close to my heart. I keep telling my students to Just Do It! and that the more work I turn out, the more ideas I have....so I gave myself the same challenge, to finish at least 8 portraits by 2/8/10. Not to get too hung up on perfection, or even reality...just do it. So here are the ones I finished (almost) today.
I'm Totally Exhausted, but happy with my day's work...Do I appreciate my time more, because there seems to be so little of it?
