Big Doll

I've been talking about the Big Doll for a while now. Inspired by Eric Swangstu at The Art Mine in Port Hadlock, WA, I blew up my Quirky pattern to eight feet tall. My free-standing kitchen counter makes a perfect large stand-up workspace...as well as a great surface on which to lay out food for parties.

I completed the job on Memorial Day weekend, and delivered the doll just in time for the opening on June 1st. He will hang from the first balcony to point the way to the upstairs galleries.

He's already generated ideas for lots of even bigger dolls, including ones that stand on their own and outdoor sculptures. Interesting how Bigness lends artistic credibility to even "Women's Work!"
